If you’re a hunter planning a trip to BC parks this hunting season, you’ve probably heard of the Christian Valley. Packed full of mule deer, whitetail deer, bobcats, cougars, and even wild turkeys, Christian Valley is any hunter’s dream destination.

Before leaving home, ensure your licenses are up-to-date and all information is current and correct. Don’t forget to visit the BC parks website to familiarize yourself with the Parks Act and all the regulations that apply.

If hunting deer is your preference, 24-inch to 30-inch mule deer are abundant in the Christian Valley and make for an exciting hunting experience.

The highest population of whitetail deer in the province resides in this area with the majority of all bucks weighing in at the 140 to 160-pound class.

If bow hunting deer is where your passions lie, be sure to head to the Christian Valley during the first week of September. Be quick though! Following this week, rifle season opens up, blowing away any chance at a peaceful bow-hunting experience.

Elk are also up for grabs during the fall months and the bulls are typically around the 350 to 370 point mark. Maturing like fine wine, these prized elk are a perfect find for the experienced hunter.

Christian Valley is a hot spot for wild cats. Looking to catch a bobcat, lynx, or cougar? This is the place to go! Make sure to pack or rent a pair of snowshoes since most of the trails in BC parks will be covered in snow during this hunting season.

Want to bring home a nice plump wild Turkey for Thanksgiving dinner? Consider heading to the Christian Valley for this hunt too. Overflowing with wild turkeys, you’re sure to leave with a feast-worthy bird for your special family dinner.

For more information about permits, management unit boundaries, hunting rules and regulations, and open season dates in BC, be sure to read up on the Hunting Regulations for the area.
